在神的兒女身上有許多東西，似乎是屬靈的，但如果追根，就看見那一個根還是從世界出來的。雖然有許多名詞是從聖經裏來的，但在人身上的那個東西，追根到底，還是從世界出來的。例如，我們常說到謙卑是美德，但聖經裏所說的謙卑和我們身上所有的謙卑是不是一個？這是問題。把人的謙卑追到底，就看見是為着某種顧忌，怕傷人情面，怕受人批評，所以我謙卑。這種謙卑是從世界來的。一個基督徒如果靠着神活着的時候，他能作一個溫柔的人，同時也能作一個剛強的的人。他可以是綿羊，也可以是獅子，因為他沒有屬世的顧忌。許多時，神的兒女在那裏說「屬天，」但到底甚麼叫屬天？不是說常和天的事物接觸的人叫屬天，乃是說從天出來的那一個才叫作屬天。同樣，不是說常和世界接觸的叫作屬世界，乃說從世界而來的那一個叫作屬世界。不是說，要不屬世界，就少與世界的事物接觸，逃避現實去作另外一個人。這樣就叫不屬世界嗎？不是，你根本是屬乎世界的，你需要神的光照。神若光照你，你就能看見，你許多的長處，追根到底，還是發源於世界的理由。那些長處，表面看是屬靈，實際上是出乎「世界的屬靈」所以沒有見證，沒有屬靈的實際。重要的問題不是「我離開了世界」沒有，問題是說︰我裏面有多少東西是屬乎世界的。

Many things possessed by God's children seem to be spiritual, but if we trace the root, we can see that such a root is from the earthliness. Although with many terms from the Bible, that thing in the human body, when questioning insight, is still from the earthliness. For example, we often say that humility is a virtue, but are the humility remarked in the Bible and the humility we have the same? This is the question. Tracing the source of human beings' humility, we can see it is for some kind of scruples. I am humble because I'm afraid of hurting other people's feelings, and I'm afraid of criticism. Such humility is from the earthliness. If a Christian living by God, he can be a gentle person, while also act as a strong person. He can be a sheep and can also be a lion, because he does not have any scruple belong to the earthliness. In many cases, children of God say "heavenly", but in the end what heavenly is? Often contacting with heaven and earth is not necessarily called heavenly, but the one from heaven can be called heavenly. Similarly, often contacting with world is not necessarily called worldly, but the one from world can be called worldly. It is not to say that if you do not want to be worldly, you need to get less contact with the things of world and escape the reality to be another person. Is this called not worldly? No, you are still entirely worldly and you need God's light. If God casts light on you, you will be able to see that a lot of your strengths are, when questioning insight, originated in the worldly reasons. Those strengths are spiritual from the surface, but actually they belong to "the worldly spiritual", so there is neither witness nor spiritual reality. The important issue is not that "I have left the world", but: how many things I have inside belong to the world.
