你如何估量你自己，以及神對你如何估量是得救關鍵所在。每一個基督徒要得着拯救，第一件事就是看自己沒有盼望。許多信徒在失敗之後，總有兩個結果︰一個是為着將來而立志作得更好。第二個就是傷心歎息。這樣的經歷與保羅所講的一樣，你立的志第二次還再立，一次又一次，但你並沒有作得更好。這就是我們的光景。所以羅馬書七章告訴我們︰不單要脫離罪，也要從律法中釋放出來。律法就是神對人肉體裏的要求，是神對在「亞當裏者」所發的一切要求，神此舉的目的是要叫我們看見肉體的軟弱敗壞。而我們往往為了討神的喜悅，也把自己放在律法下，自立規條給自己去守，不該作這，不該作那。一面是神要求你，一面是你要求自己。你對於「老亞當」還有盼望，以為可以改良、可以得勝。拯救脫離律法就是從今以後，你對你自己不再盼望了。明白你這個人不會改良，不能得勝的。神要你知道︰你是一無所有的，你與基督已一同被釘在十架上﹔從今以後，你要站在神給你的地位上。這就是得救脫離律法。我們對「道理」很通透，知道「老亞當」的生命是無可彌補，不能改良的。但在經歷裏，就一直在在彌補、在改良，但你得承認人犯錯是一點也不稀奇的，不犯才稀奇。除了與主同釘死十架上之外，不配有任何地位。誰先看見這個就是福。多少基督徒在那裏掙扎，走了多少懊喪的路，才知道神對你這個人是一點盼望都沒有。你越早知道這事實越好。因為所有真正釋放的生命乃是從這裏起頭。認識了「亞當」的生命，並知道基督的工作，就對自己死了心，不再打算作甚麼來討神的喜歡。人若一天不脫離律法，就免不了灰心失望。唯一不失望的就是知道「神對我們根本沒有盼望。」

How do you assess yourself and how does God assess you is the key to salvation. To be saved, the first thing for every Christian is to have no wishes on himself. Many followers, after the defeat, have two results: one is determined to do better for the future. The second is to be sad and sigh. This experience is the same to what Paul has talked about. The determination you have made will be made for the second time, and again and again, but you will not do better. This is our condition. So in the chapter 7 of Romans we can read: not only we should be away from sin, but also should be released from the law. Law is God's request in human flesh and is all God's requirements on those who are "inside Adam". God's purpose is to let us see the weakness and ruin of the flesh. However, we tend to, in order to please God, put ourselves under the Law and made rules by ourselves to obey which tells us we should not do this and do that. On one side is God asking you and on other side is you asking yourself. You have wishes on the "old Adam" by thinking that there is room for improvement and you can win. Salvation being away from the law is from now on you have no wishes on yourself and understand that you will not improve and win. God wants you to know: You are incapable of doing anything and you have been nailed on the cross together with Christ; from now on, you have to stand on the position that God gives you. This is salvation being away from the law. "Truth" is at our fingertips and we know that the life of "old Adam" is irreparable and can not be improved. But in our experiences we have been compensated for the improvement. You have to admit that it is not unusual for one to err, and do not err is surprising. What sin do we not commit? God's assessment on us is: we do not deserve any position except being crucified on the cross with the Lord. Those who see this first will be blessed. So many Christians have been struggling and have passed a number of depressed way before knowing that God has no wishes on them. The sooner you know this fact the better things you will get, because all the real life released will start from this moment. Understanding the life of "Adam" and knowing the work of Christ, you will think no more of yourself and no longer plan to please God. One day people are not away from the law, they will inevitably become discouraged and disappointed. The only way to stop disappointment is to know that "God has no wishes us at all."
